Support - Growing your team: How do I add an advisor?

Are you ready to start building your advisory board? Advisors typically help companies with product strategy, introductions to investors, business development, and more. Startups usually compensate advisors with equity in their company.
If you want to invite an advisor to join your team, follow these steps.
Step 1. Go to your Capbase Dashboard > Team > Advisors and click on the Add your first advisor button.
Step 2. Fill out the name and email address of the advisor.
Step 3. Enter the number of shares the advisor will be compensated with, as well as the details of their vesting schedule and start date.
Step 4. Review the contract details and sign the generated documents. The advisor will receive an email from Capbase inviting them to create an account and sign the paperwork.
Once these documents are generated, you can't edit them. If the advisor has not accepted their invitation yet, you can still cancel the invitation and generate a new contract if needed.
To do this, go to your Capbase Dashboard > Team > Advisors. You'll see a yellow banner at the top of the page when you have a pending advisor invitation. Here, you'll click on Cancel.
Step 5. Once all the paperwork is fully executed, the advisor will be listed on the Advisors page and the signed paperwork will be located on your Document Room page.
